The fabled Golf GTI turns 50 next year and Volkswagen are already building up momentum to mark the occasion. In the lead up to the milestone, the first celebration comes in the form of the Golf GTI Clubsport 24h which will debut at the ADAC 24 hour race, held at none other than the Nurburgring.

The event takes place from 19-22 June 2025 and is the largest motorsport event of its kind in Germany, attracting around 230,000 fans on a good weekend! The world premiere of this special GTI will take place during the event with Volkswagen also set to unveil a Golf R Black Edition which will include a unique driving model to tackle demanding tracks like the Nurburgring.

Two Golf GTI Clubsport 24h cars will take part in the competition under the ‘Max Kruse Racing Team’. The drivers selected are Benjamin ‘Benny’ Leuchter who will be joined by Johan Kristoffersson, Nico Otto and Heiko Hammel, all of whom will be looking to defend their title from last year. In the other GTI Clubsport 24h, Fabian Vettel, Sebastian’s younger brother will take to the track.
