57 years since Hyundai Motor was founded, the brand has just rolled its 100 millionth vehicle off the production line. A major milestone for this global automotive giant, its innovative attitude playing a significant part in the achievement of this feat, not to mention its diverse lineup that now includes Genesis, Hyundai N Motorsport and IONIQ of course!

To celebrate, Hyundai delivered this record vehicle directly to a customer from the factory floor. The first time this has been done in the brand’s history. The car in question, an IONIQ 5 N Line rolled off the Ulsan Plant’s production line for a special handover ceremony. Note the electronic LCD board above the car says 100 million and 1, following Hyundai’s mantra of always “pushing one step further”.

The Ulsan Plant opened in 1968 and has been hailed as the birthplace of Korea’s automobile industry with the Hyundai Pony rolling off the line here in 1975. Since then, the plant has grown, most recently becoming a centre of electrification for Hyundai with the site now featuring a dedicated EV facility.

Hyundai now has manufacturing operations in Turkey, India, Czech Republic and USA. The brand crossed its previous production milestone in 2013 when the 50 millionth Hyundai left the factory.

  1. Hyundai have moved some distance from the Hyundai Terracan with its Mitsubishi V6 petrol engine.
It was a robust vehicle except ours, from new, after about three years dropped a part in the fuel delivery system which caused it to run like a diesel. Hyundai stood by the engine and repaired the fault at no cost. It ran without further fault while we owned it.
Our almost 3 year old black, Ioniq 5 AWD Ltd with glass roof from new, has been a brilliant vehicle. Apart from a minor hatch rattle due to bush harshness when closed (fixed by us), the vehicle is outstanding. Of 50 vehicles owned privately over 55 years it is the best yet
