Come October 6th, McLaren Automotive will add a new flagship ‘1’ car to its legacy. W1, the brand’s upcoming supercar follows in the vast footsteps of the P1 and then the F1 that came before it. Both iconic cars that leave the W1 with rather big shoes to fill especially in the performance department.

W1, called so because the reveal date marks 50 years since McLaren won its first F1 Constructors’ World Championship. Emerson Fittipaldi also won the F1 Drivers’ Championship with McLaren in the same year, making it one worth celebrating for the brand!

Described as being “the ultimate expression of a McLaren supercar”, the W1 is set to “define the rulebook of a real supercar” according to Michael Leiters, CEO of McLaren Automotive.

The reveal is set for 13:00 BST on Sunday, 6th of October.
