As the world celebrates Valentino Rossi’s 46th birthday, BMW M has unveiled a masterpiece in his honor: the BMW M4 CS Edition VR46. A perfect embodiment of Rossi’s iconic legacy and BMW’s engineering excellence, this limited edition sports car fuses breathtaking design with cutting-edge performance – a true celebration for motorsport enthusiasts and Rossi fans alike. Created in collaboration with Rossi himself, this exceptional vehicle is limited to just 46 units in each of the two distinctive design variants: “Sport” and “Style”.
The BMW M4 CS Edition VR46 radiates Rossi’s legendary personality through its design. This is evident in the striking custom paint finishes unique to the two variants. The “Sport” is finished in a vivid Marina Bay Blue metallic adorned with a large “46” rendered in Tanzanite Blue metallic on both sides, capturing the speed and vibrancy associated with Rossi’s career. On the other hand, the “Style” variant boasts a sophisticated Frozen Tanzanite Blue metallic finish with the “46” in Frozen Marina Bay Blue metallic – a nod to Valentino’s expressive yet elegant style.
Yellow accents add an unmistakable Rossi signature. From the kidney grille outline and brake calipers to a striking accent strip over the door frames, these bright touches harken back to Rossi’s preferred colors. Inside, the use of bold Sao Paulo Yellow contrasts with the predominantly Night Blue interior, further personalizing the car. The carbon-fiber roof is hand-painted with VR46 insignias, along with Rossi’s signature to ensure each car is undeniably his.
At the heart of the BMW M4 CS Edition VR46 lies a 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology, pushing the limits of performance. Generating 405 kW (550 hp), the car rockets from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and achieves a top speed of 302 km/h, courtesy of the M xDrive all-wheel-drive system and its eight-speed M Steptronic transmission . The car is perfectly tuned for track performance, with enhanced engine mounting for better responsiveness, a model-specific cooling system for peak conditions, and a titanium exhaust system delivering an exhilarating soundtrack .
BMW M’s engineering prowess continues with its chassis technology, which has been specifically optimised to harmonize with the car’s power and weight distribution.
