The Trailblazer: All-New Subaru Uncharted

Leading the charge is the Subaru Uncharted, the brand’s first all-electric compact SUV. Aimed squarely at “outdoor-loving explorers and performance enthusiasts,” the Uncharted promises to blend signature Subaru ruggedness with sharp, dynamic agility.

Inside, the cabin is generously equipped, featuring a distinctive squared steering wheel, a massive 14-inch infotainment display, and dual wireless chargers. But it’s the performance that really turns heads. Three distinct versions will be on offer:

  • All-Wheel Drive: The hero model packs a 77 kWh battery and dual motors, unleashing a potent 252 kW (344 ps). This translates to a blistering 0-62 mph time of just 5.0 seconds, a range of up to 292 miles, and a practical 1500 kg towing capacity.
  • FWD Long-Range: For the first time in a modern Subaru SUV in Europe, the brand is offering a Front-Wheel Drive option. This version uses the same large 77 kWh battery but pairs it with a single motor to prioritise efficiency, stretching the range to an impressive 363 miles.
  • FWD Standard Range: An even more accessible FWD model will feature a smaller 57.7 kWh battery, still delivering a very usable 276 miles of range.

Crucially, all Uncharted models come standard with a 22 kW on-board charger and battery pre-conditioning, allowing a 10-80% top-up in just 30 minutes, even in extreme weather. The Uncharted is slated to hit UK roads in early 2026.

The Legend, Reborn: All-New Subaru E-Outback

The Outback is an icon, the original crossover pioneer that has defined versatile adventure for 30 years. Now, it’s being redefined for the EV generation as the E-Outback. Known as the Trailseeker in the US market, this new flagship model combines everything drivers love about its petrol sibling with thrilling electric power.

The E-Outback is built for serious adventure. It boasts a massive 280 kW (380 ps) output, rocketing it from 0-62 mph in a sports-car-scaring 4.4 seconds. It wouldn’t be an Outback without serious capability, and the E-Outback delivers with Symmetrical AWD, 210 mm of ground clearance, a dual X-MODE terrain system, and a 1500 kg towing capacity. It’s also longer than the Solterra, offering enough luggage space for four large suitcases, making it the ultimate electric adventure vehicle. The E-Outback is expected to arrive in the UK in Summer 2026.

The OG Gets a Glow-Up: The New Subaru Solterra

Subaru’s first EV, the Solterra, hasn’t been forgotten. Three years after its debut, it’s receiving a significant refresh with major hardware and software upgrades.

Power is boosted to 252 kW (344 ps), cutting the 0-62 mph time to 5.1 seconds. More importantly, battery capacity is up to 73.1 kWh, pushing the driving range beyond 310 miles. Charging speeds have improved dramatically, matching the Uncharted’s 10-80% time of 30 minutes, even at a frosty -10°C. Towing capacity has also been doubled to a far more useful 1500 kgs. The refreshed Solterra, which also gets tweaked styling and a new 14-inch infotainment screen, will launch alongside the Uncharted in early 2026.
