Mahindra has officially entered the premium EV segment with the launch of the BE 6e, an electric coupe SUV. With its bold futuristic design, cutting-edge technology, and powerful performance, the BE 6e is set to go head-to-head with established rivals like the Kia EV6, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Mercedes-Benz EQA.
Design: Striking, Aerodynamic, and Practical
The Mahindra BE 6e stands out with its sleek and aerodynamic coupe SUV design, aimed to appeal to both style-conscious buyers and EV enthusiasts. The SUV boasts a sloping roofline, floating front spoiler, and two-part rear spoiler for improved aerodynamics. Signature C-shaped bi-LED headlamps, C-shaped LED tail lamps, and an illuminated Mahindra logo define its commanding presence.
Riding on stylish 18-inch aero wheels, the BE 6e delivers 207mm of ground clearance, providing a balance of road presence and practicality. The SUV’s dimensions also include a 2775mm wheelbase, contributing to interior roominess. Practicality doesn’t take a backseat, with the BE 6e offering a 455-litre boot and an additional 45-litre frunk (front trunk) for extra storage.

Powering the BE 6e is Mahindra’s highly capable single motor placed on the rear axle, delivering 282bhp and 380Nm of torque. With this setup, the BE 6e accelerates from 0-100 kmph in just 6.7 seconds. The car offers four driving modes — Boost, Race, Everyday, and Range — to cater to diverse driving preferences.
Mahindra offers two battery pack configurations with the BE 6e:
- 79kWh: Delivers an impressive ARAI-certified range of 656km (real-world range of over 500km).
- 59kWh: Offers a range of over 400km (real-world conditions).
Both battery options utilise Mahindra’s cell-to-pack technology, which enhances energy density and durability. Additionally, the BE 6e supports ultra-fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes when connected to a 175kW fast charger.
