Honda is getting ready to turn the page, and it looks like the next chapter could be rather interesting. Meet the Avancier, the first model in a new generation of Honda vehicles, and one that promises to give us a glimpse of where the Japanese brand is heading.
Honda New Zealand has lifted the covers (well slightly) on its upcoming Avancier, announcing that the all-new model will soon make its debut and usher in a fresh era for the brand.
While the finer details remain firmly under wraps, the first teaser images offer a tantalising glimpse of what’s to come. There’s a bold silhouette, distinctive lighting signature and an overall design that Honda describes as elegant, progressive and very much representative of its next-generation design philosophy.
Honda is positioning the Avancier as a significant step forward in its design and technology direction, while still promising to retain the character, driving experience and ownership qualities that have helped establish the brand with Kiwi motorists over the years.
Exactly what that means in terms of powertrain, performance, technology and specification is anyone’s guess at this stage. Honda is keeping those cards close to its chest, although the promise of innovative technology and a fresh approach to design certainly gives us something to look forward to.
The Avancier also arrives during a busy period for Honda New Zealand. 2026 has already seen the arrival of the all-new Prelude, bringing a much-loved nameplate back into the spotlight, alongside the rather fun and funky Super-ONE. The brand has also continued to expand its hybrid offering, introducing additional hybrid variants across its SUV line-up.
The Avancier represents the next step in that evolution, with Honda looking to respond to changing customer expectations while continuing to improve the overall ownership experience.
For now, we’ll have to make do with the teaser and a healthy dose of curiosity. But if this is the shape of things to come from Honda, we’re certainly interested in seeing the full picture.
