Bentley Mulliner Introduces Side-to-Side Paint Fade Exclusively for Supersports

Bentley’s coachbuilding division, Mulliner, has unveiled a new design package for the Supersports that breaks new ground for the brand. Called Design Theme by Mulliner, it introduces a paint fade that runs laterally across the entire body (from one side of the car to the other) something Bentley says has never appeared on any of its production vehicles before.

How the Fade Works

The concept is deliberately driver-centric. A bold highlight colour defines the driver’s side of the car, then transitions across the bodywork into a darker tone on the passenger side. A single off-centre stripe runs the full length of the car, aligned with the passenger seat rather than the centreline.

Bentley notes that the layout remains driver-focused regardless of whether the car is right- or left-hand drive. A number eight badge appears on the front grille, and accent pinstripes finish the carbon diffusers, fender blades, and sills.

Three Curated Themes, Inside and Out

The package is offered in three specially curated combinations, each covering both exterior and interior. Inside, the Supersports retains its two-seat-only layout, a deliberate choice that reinforces its performance focus. The interior mirrors the exterior’s two-tone logic: the brighter colour surrounds the driver’s position, while the darker shade carries across to the passenger side.

Trim includes the Full Leather Specification, with a unique Supersports perforation pattern on the seats and door inserts. Contrast stitching appears on the dashboard and headrests, and the gear lever matches the driver’s seat colour. Customers wanting something beyond the three curated options can approach their Bentley retailer, with Mulliner able to explore further bespoke finishes.

Where It Sits in the Supersports Range

The Supersports already offered two design tiers at launch (Level One and Level Two) each with distinct interior and exterior treatments. Those included three-tone cabin options, perforated Dinamica upholstery, gloss black and diamond-cut 22-inch wheels, and varying degrees of exterior livery striping across five named colour specifications.

Design Theme by Mulliner sits above both as the most distinctive option in the lineup. It is positioned as the pinnacle personalisation choice for Supersports buyers who want something visually singular rather than a variation on an established theme.

Goodwood Debut

The new theme will make its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where Bentley plans to display it as one of three specially painted Mulliner cars on its stand. That setting (high-visibility, enthusiast-heavy, and well suited to bold exterior statements) seems a fitting first outing for a finish this visually assertive.

For a brand that has traditionally favoured restraint in its colour and trim language, a full-width lateral fade is a meaningful step. Whether it signals a broader shift in how Mulliner approaches personalisation, or remains a Supersports-only flourish, will be worth watching.
