There’s nothing else on the road quite like the Jeep Gladiator. It’s a rugged 4×4, a capable ute, and the only convertible in its class, a unique blend of utility and pure, unfiltered fun. For 2025, Jeep isn’t just resting on those laurels; it’s doubling down. The refreshed Gladiator has just landed in Australian dealerships (no word from NZ) this month, bringing a host of significant upgrades to the table that enhance its style, tech, and safety, all while retaining the hardcore capability its fans adore.
Offered exclusively in the top-tier Rubicon variant, this updated model promises to be the ultimate tool for freedom and exploration.

A New Face of Adventure
At first glance, the 2025 Gladiator’s most obvious change is its face. The iconic seven-slot grille gets a modern makeover, now featuring black textured slots, neutral grey metallic bezels, and a body-colour surround. This isn’t just a cosmetic tweak; the wider design also improves engine cooling, a welcome update for those tough climbs. The premium look is further enhanced by new body-colour fender flares and a fresh design for the 17-inch machined black wheels.
Jeep has also addressed some practical trail concerns. The old steel mast antenna is gone, replaced by a stealth antenna integrated into the new Gorilla® glass windshield. This small but clever change streamlines the Gladiator’s profile and eliminates the risk of snagging the antenna on branches during an off-road excursion. The tougher Gorilla® glass itself adds durability and better resistance against chips and cracks from flying trail debris.

A Command Centre for the Wild
Step inside, and the evolution continues. The cabin’s new centrepiece is a massive 12.3-inch touchscreen, the largest and most advanced display ever offered in a Gladiator. It runs the latest Uconnect 5 system, which is faster and more intuitive, featuring wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. The screen even uses special backlight technology for better visibility when you’re driving with the top off in the bright sun.
The whole dashboard feels more premium, with a new wrapped instrument panel featuring soft-touch surfaces and contrast accent stitching. For the modern adventurer, Jeep has added AMPS bracket provisions atop the dash, allowing for the easy mounting of phones, GPS units, or other electronics. Comfort is also seriously upgraded, with new standard 12-way power-adjustable front seats trimmed in Nappa Leather. In true Jeep fashion, even the power seat controls have been rigorously tested to ensure they maintain the Gladiator’s renowned water fording capability.

Uncompromised Capability
Under the bonnet, the Gladiator is powered by the proven 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 engine, delivering a healthy 209kW and 347Nm of torque through a smooth 8-speed automatic transmission. It’s an engine designed with a broad torque range, perfect for the low-end grunt needed for serious off-roading.
Being a Rubicon, its “Trail Rated” badge isn’t just for show. It boasts an incredible 77:1 crawl ratio, an electronic front sway-bar disconnect for massive articulation, and the Rock-Trac system for supreme grip. Protection comes from three underbody skid plates, steel rock rails, and an additional skid plate that’s now standard. It all rides on 32-inch off-road tyres wrapped around 17-inch aluminium wheels.

The Smartest Gladiator Yet
Jeep has significantly boosted the Gladiator’s value by making the previously optional ‘Lifestyle Adventure Group’ standard equipment. This means every 2025 Rubicon now comes with a spray-in bedliner, a trail rail management system, a 240-amp alternator, an auxiliary switch bank, a wireless Bluetooth® speaker, and lockable under-seat storage.
Safety also gets a major lift with the standard inclusion of first and second-row side curtain airbags, a rear seat reminder alert, and auto high beam headlamps. This complements an already impressive suite of driver aids like adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, and forward collision warning. With a palette of eight colours including bold choices like Firecracker Red, Mojito, and Hydro Blue, there’s a Gladiator to match any personality.

The 2025 Gladiator Rubicon was already a unique and desirable adventure machine. Now, it’s smarter, safer, more comfortable, and a better value proposition than ever before. For those who hear the call of the wild, Jeep has just served up a very compelling answer.
