MG to Electrify Goodwood with Dazzling Debuts

MG is set to command the spotlight at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed, powering up for the iconic event with a stunning quartet of European debuts that blend production-ready innovation with breathtaking design concepts. Building on the momentum of their centenary celebrations, the brand will unveil two brand-new, technologically advanced electric vehicles alongside the alluring Cyberster Black and the rugged Cyber X concept from July 10-13.

The festival will kick off with high-voltage excitement on Thursday, July 10, at 11 am, when MG officially presents its two new EVs to the world. One of these new models is slated to demonstrate its “phenomenal EV acceleration” by tackling the legendary Goodwood hill climb, promising a thrilling spectacle for attendees. It will be joined on the hill by the fan-favorite MG EX4, a rapid EV racer returning with a striking new livery that pays homage to the legendary MG Metro 6R4 rally car.

Beyond the new production models, MG will showcase its ambitious design direction with two show-stopping concepts envisioned by SAIC Design’s Vice President, Jozef Kaban. The spectacular MG Cyberster two-seat electric convertible returns in a new “Cyberster Black” guise, featuring a luxurious deep black paint treatment, contrasting chrome accents, and an all-black interior that elevates its elegant image.

Pushing the brand in a “new, unexpected direction” is the Cyber X concept, a provocative and compact “urban explorer”. This youthful EV is designed for the city, boasting eye-catching pop-up headlamps and extremely short overhangs that accentuate its grounded, agile posture, making it adept at navigating complex urban roads. “MG has a tradition of creating emotive cars that stand-out from the crowd and we’re passionate about continuing this work,” stated Kaban, underlining the brand’s commitment to creating cars with character in the electric age.

The Duke of Richmond, founder of the Festival of Speed, lauded MG’s return, stating, “The opportunity to catch a first glimpse of captivating future design and technical innovation is a key part of the Goodwood experience and MG has so much to offer this year”.

Festival-goers will have plenty to explore, with a main MG stand displaying the current lineup, including the MGS5 EV and the award-winning MG HS SUV. A second experience area will feature the high-performance MG4 EV XPower, showcasing the breadth of the brand’s offerings. This significant presence at Goodwood underscores MG’s status as a dynamic and truly global brand, with a presence in nearly 120 countries and over 240,000 sales in Europe during 2024.
