It’s barely been a month since Polestar announced that they were coming to New Zealand, they aren’t too far away from actually landing on our shores either. A good thing considering that their latest announcement is bound to have people knocking on their doors! The good news is that both single motor Polestar 2 models are eligible for the ‘Clean Car Discount’ rebate of $8,625. But wait, there’s more to look forward to.
The Polestar 2 range starts at $69,900 with no compromise. That means you get the quality finishes, vegan interior, Android Automotive OS infotainment with Google and that signature Swedish design of course! Polestar will keep working on improving the software and ‘over the air updates’ make keeping up much easier.
The second model eligible for the discount is the Long range Single motor with a 78kWhr battery pack. Priced at $78,900, this model offers 540km of WLTP range! Lastly, the top spec model is the Long range Dual motor with a price tag of $93,900. The range topping model has 300kW on tap and a whopping 660Nm of torque delivered to all four wheels!
The Polestar 2 range destined for New Zealand is already specified but there are three optional packages available if you’d like to spice things up a little. First on the list is the ‘Pilot Pack’ which adds a suite of additional safety and assistance features. Pixel LED headlights, 360-degree cameras, parking sensors all around, Rear Collision Warning, Blind Spot Information System and more included in this pack.
The second option is in the form of the ‘Plus Pack’ which adds an extra touch of luxury to the cabin. You get a 13-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, full-length panoramic glass roof, heated electric front seats, heated rear seats, heated steering wheel and heated wiper nozzles! The final option is the ‘Performance Pack’ and is only available on the Long range Dual motor model. Adjustable Ohlins dampers, Brembo brakes, forged 20-inch wheels and gold accents make this one mean green machine!
Not happy with those pre-set packages? You can also take your pick from Nappa leather upholstery, metallic paint, 20-inch alloy wheels and a semi-electric folding tow bar to further customise your Polestar 2.
