The ‘MY2022’ Kia Cerato has just arrived on New Zealand shores and it becomes the first of the brand’s cars to feature their all new logo. The Cerato is a firm favourite all around the globe being one of Kia’s top three sellers worldwide. It is also the best selling Kia that isn’t an SUV!
The logo ushers in an era of change for Kia. The brand has already made some excellent cars over the last decade and their new direction seeks to improve on that. Kia want to keep pushing their ethos of progression and development with the new Cerato seeing an improvement in style, comfort, safety and performance.
The range topping Cerato GT features a 1.6l turbo four pot producing a huge 150kW which is sent to the wheels through a 7 speed dual clutch gearbox. The GT also gets a sports steering wheel, paddles, metallic pedals and leather bucket seats! You also get 18inch wheels which are coated in Michelin Pilot Sport rubber.
The interior features Kia’s new infotainment system displayed through a 10.25 inch screen. There is another 4.2 inch screen in front of the driver as well. The new Cerato also comes with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto as standard! There’s plenty of room on the inside with 1,335 litres of boot space on offer when you fold the rear seats.
The interior is not only high tech and spacious but it is also very safe. A 5 star ANCAP rating is to be expected with Kia’s high standard of safety. Adding to that is the suite of safety tech including Forward Collision Assist, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Follow Assist and Smart Cruise Control among other things.
Did we mention that the new Kia Cerato also falls under the ‘zero band’ of the government’s Clean Car programme, enduring no extra fees.
