Officially called the Jaguar F-Pace SVR Edition 1988, it is the first limited edition version of Jaguar’s flagship performance SUV. Created by the artisans at SV Bespoke, just 394 examples of the car will be available worldwide.
Painted in a gorgeous ‘Midnight Amethyst Gloss’ colour and combined with Champagne Gold details which highlight a “One of 394” badge. The ‘Edition 1988’ name takes inspiration from the total number of laps completed by Jaguar’s XJR-9 LM at Le Mans in 1988. Coincidentally, 1988 is also the total number of cars to be built by Jaguar’s Special Vehicle Operations division!
The paint scheme is unique to this special edition and took more than 40 variations before Jaguar settled on the “correct depth of colour”. The leaping cat logo and brand name are also painted in a ‘Sunset Gold Satin’ colour. Gloss black finishes complete the unique look of the exterior.
The story of exclusivity continues to the interior which features open pore carbon fibre, Ebony leather upholstery which is also highlighted with ‘Sunset Gold Satin’ details. SV & Edition 1988 branding can also be found on the treadplates and dashboard. Jaguar’s Pivi Pro infotainment system has also received an update which means you can key in three word combinations to make the navigation more precise. Typing in “wins.report.miracle” will take you the main entrance of the Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans!
Being Jaguar’s flag bearing performance SUV, the F-Pace SVR is a naturally quick car and with that 5 litre supercharged V8 powering it, the Edition 1988 is ridiculously fast. Putting out 550PS, the SVR will do the 0-100 sprint in 3.8 seconds and keep going to a limited top speed of 178mph (286kph)!
Edition 1988 will make its inaugural public appearance between June 8-12 at Jaguar Special Vehicle Operations’ display at Le Mans. It will also debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed later this month.
